How Does Solar Energy Work

Solar Energy Information for Orlando

Solar Energy works by converting light into electricity on the atomic level. It allows solar cells to absorb photons of light and release electrons. The electrons are then a readily available electrical current ready to be used as electricity. This is scientifically known as the photoelectric effect. It is also commonly referred to as the photovoltaic effect. The photoelectric process produces (direct current) DC electricity that will need to be converted to (alternating current) AC electricity. Our homes and businesses run on AC electricity. The dc electricity is then converted using a Solar Inverter that prepares the electricity for usage.
